Crude Oil declines to start out the 2009 year, will it contiue?

Crude oil falls in wallstreet today as the first day in trading for 2009. This is based on traders thinking that the rise of crude oil on December 31st was too excessive in a slumping economy.
Good news to start the New Year! Why did crude oil raise so much at 14 % on December 31st as the last day in 2008? U.S. Fuel Stockpiles was less than expected and the conflict between Isreal and Hamas raised some concern that the Middle East supply may be disrupted. However...
Crude oil may rise again next week as OPEC makes record cuts in production. This is in spite of the period of time right now whereas the world is going through the deepest economic slump since World War II era. This news and the continued economic crisis will spur further need to find other alternatives and to take action in modifying your vehicle in conserving gas usage. This will still counter the supply drop as production cuts continue from OPEC leaders.
